Hey! Double episodes this week! Yay! In our first episode, Claire and I discuss Eye of the Sh*t Storm by Jackson Ford. In the bonus episode, we chat with Jackson Ford again, which is great because we love him, and we think he loves us, too.
First, let's talk about Eye of the Sh*t Storm. This is the third in the Frost Files series. You will remember that the main character, Teagan, has psychokinesis, aka she can move random shit through the air with her mind. (Do you like the way I smushed the first two book titles together there? Yeah, I do, too.) This time, she moves a lot of shit with her PK, but... she accidentally gets addicted to drugs which is not cool at all. But the drugs make her PK super powerful so that is cool? I don't know, it's hard to say. I personally dislike it, but it's kind of funny how it happens even if it is terrible. So anyway, that's part of the shit storm. There's also another superpowered kid. This one has electricity powers and he's a lot less awful than the kid from book two. (THROW THAT KID OUT OF THE HELICOPTER.) And there's a villain called The Zigzag man who is creepy beyond all reason. BUT, you might already know him if you've been paying attention. And then there's a flood... in the LA River. Enter the actual shit storm. If you want to read our summary, of course you can do that, but also be sure to read the book and listen to our episode.
Now, on to the bonus episode where we talk to Jackson Ford again. He's seriously our favorite because he just rolls with our ridiculousness. We created brand new superheroes and super powers involving growing hair on oneself and on others, the Salonkinetic. We also talked about serious stuff, like the huge amounts of growth and change multiple characters have that is so realistic, especially in a book about moving shit around in the air with powers.
This series is one of my absolute favorites and I hope it doesn't stop any time soon, mostly so we can keep talking to Jackson Ford. Here's a recording picture!
It's almost nonstop laughs every time he's around.
Okay, that's all for now!
