F***. My. Face.

Okay, let me start out by saying that I don't normally censor myself quite so much, but can you really start out a blog post with the word "Fuck"? No, you can't.

On our episode this week, Claire and I talk about Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff. Please refer to the title of the post for our feelings about this book.

IT IS SO GOOD. Shockingly good. You know how I feel about Nevernight, which we discussed on the show in the before times, aka before Claire was on the show, and that we liked Illuminae, too. This one though? Better.

Empire of the Vampire is the beginning of a trilogy in which Gabriel de Leon recounts his life as a member of the Silversaints, a group of men just like him, children of a vampire father and human mother, who slay vampires. If you just gasped vampire-vampire-hunter, you're only half right. In this first installment, Gabriel tells the stories of when he first became a silversaint and when he first found the Holy Grail. It's Interview with the Vampire but Louis is doing the interviewing and Christian Slater is a hot, tattooed, half-vampire badass. For more details, read or listen to the book, check out our summary and listen to our episode.

Here's a recording picture where we're talking about how bad something is that happened.

There was much flailing in this one.

READ THE BOOK. IT'S IMPORTANT.
